ASC_75th.JPGScouts Franco-manitobains 75th Anniversary8 viewsMeaning of badge:
- At top, Red River, found on the first and third badges worn in the district since 1935.
- Yellow and green on each side of the point; sign that we are moving towards a future filled with challenges, without losing sight of our heritage of the past.
- The Red River Cart – stylized. Symbol found on the first two district badges. The first having only the cart, the second having both the ox and cart, but fully stitched.
- Red maple leaf with universal sign of Scouting, the Fleury, seen by our founder as being a cardinal point on an African map.
- 75 – the years that francophone scouting has lived in this beautiful province.
- Each color reflects the levels of scouting. (Yellow – Beavers, Green – Cubs, Navy blue – Scouts, Red – Venturers, White – Rovers and adults.)
- 2008 – Although our district had groups in May of 1932 and we would have liked to celebrate our 75th in the same year as the 100th of World Scouting, logistics would have been too complicated. That is why, as in 1982 and 2007, our district chose to move the celebrations one year ahead to accommodate better preparation time.
